hi there!
This summer, I am making my Broadway debut as Maria Luisa in HERE LIES LOVE, created by David Byrne (Academy Award®, Grammy® Award, and Tony Award® winner) and Fatboy Slim (Grammy Award winner). The groundbreaking musical experience is directed by Alex Timbers (Tony Award winner) and choreographed by Annie-B Parson (Olivier Award nominee). Here Lies Love begins previews at the Broadway Theater in June!
Over the past year, I have been touring the country as Jane Seymour in the First National Tour of SIX THE MUSICAL. My time on the road was deeply fulfilling, but I am very happy to be back onstage in New York City (the last time being my Off-Broadway debut in BROADWAY BOUNTY HUNTER, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Werner, and written by Tony nominee Joe Iconis, Lance Rubin, and Jason "SweetTooth" Williams). While at Penn State, I developed a love for originating roles in new works. One of my favorites has been Rat in Joe Iconis' LOVE IN HATE NATION, which I got to revisit in its World Premiere at Two River Theater (directed by John Simpkins and choreographed by Mayte Natalio). Another opportunity to play came in THE LUCKY BOY by Kirsten Childs, where I got to sing some incredible music as Almastasa. Most recently, I originated the role of the Kid in Denver Center's World Premiere production of WILD FIRE, written by Jessica Kahkoska. |
In addition to performing, I am also a songwriter. In 2018, I co-wrote RESULTS WILL VARY*, an original musical for Penn State University's New Student Orientation. The show has been performed for over 6,000 incoming students over the past four summers. I was also selected to participate in the JOHNNY MERCER SONGWRITERS' PROJECT, a prestigious program where songwriters spend a week learning from Tony and Grammy Award nominated master teachers. This year's teachers were Craig Carnelia, Lindy Robbins, and Andrew Lippa.
Both on and off-stage, my Filipino roots are incredibly important to me. I served as Co-Cultural Director of the Penn State Filipino Association and directed a cultural showcase titled Barrio Fiesta: Crazy Rich Filipinos. The show centered around the celebration of Filipino culture, heritage, and community. I am an artist who is passionate about creating work that prides itself in inclusivity and creativity, always looking to bring myself into the work. I am so glad that you found my site. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions! |
